Branch
Civil
Engineering, is the spine of any nation, as the infrastructure of
the nation is built by the civil engineers. India is a fast developing
country and huge infrastructure projects are under construction such as
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna, Golden Quadrilateral Project,
Interlinking of rivers, metro rail projects etc. So large number of
civil engineers are required for the completion of these projects. In
this context, KAUTILYA is the first private engineering college in
Rajasthan to introduce civil engineering the pioneer branch.
The institute has taken a new initiative in Center
for Water Conservation & Management.

Nature of Work
A civil engineer has responsibility to build his nation. He has the
responsibilities of planning, designing and supervising the
construction projects like highways, railways, airports, bridges,
multistoried buildings, shopping malls, dams & canals, sewer-line
projects, water, oil and gas supply lines etc. He also takes care of
environment by controlling air, water and noise pollution.
Career
Opportunities
In career choices, the sky is the limit for civil engineer. In India,
there are various government, public sector and private organisations
which require civil engineers such as Indian railways, central public
works department, military engg. services, central water commission,
national highway authority of India, airport authority of India,
national thermal power corporation, national hydroelectric power
corporation, oil and natural gas corporation,
larson & tubro, reliance,
punj-lioyd , gammon India ltd. etc. Besides this, there are various
organisations engaged in the field of research & development like
central road research institute, central building research institute,
Bhabha atomic research center, defense research & development
organisation etc. there is a great demand of civil engineers in gulf
and abroad.
